Metal Blade’s 30th Anniversary Sampler. Free on Record Store Day, and my favorite 2012 RCD find.

Here is my favorite Record Store Day 2012 acquisition, Metal Blade Records 30th Anniversary Sampler. The chock-full-of-metal comp includes 30 tracks from Metal Blade heavies like Armored Saint, Flotsam and Jetsam, Lizzy Borden, Sacred Reich, King Diamond, and Mercyful Fate. Did I mention it was a RCD freebie?

I’ve seen a few popping up on eBay for $5, a small price to pay for so much excellent metal. I’ve had the second CD playing constantly, way too loud since last weekend. King’s X Groove Machine sounds as good now as it did in 1998, and the same can be said for the comps other vintage tracks. The two CD’s span the very metal history of Metal Blade music from 1982-2012.

Track listing (which for some reason I can’t find anywhere else) follows.

CD 1
Cannibal Corpse: Demented Aggression (from Torture)
Joe For A Cowboy: Nourishment Through Bloodshed fFrom Demoncracy)
Goatwhore: Collapse In The Eternal Worth (from Blood For The Master)
